Earlier this year, Derbyshire Makes (a countywide project led by Local and Arts Derbyshire) launched a photography bursary for designer-maker businesses to help them strengthen their brand with high quality product photography.

Founder and Designer Esther Patterson said she was delighted to be featured, adding that Elle Decoration is a key publication for her work.

Curiousa design and manufacture free hand-blown glass and ceramic lighting from their old mill studio in Wirksworth in Derbyshire. Esther, who has a love for nature, drives her whole approach and every decision within her business to ensure its operated as sustainably as possible. Nature also inspires her range of products. At the Create Growth D2 Hub, we are delighted to see this article about Esther and Curiousa feature in the Elle Decoration magazine. It’s great to see how the photography bursary that Esther received, has helped towards providing such stunning photography of her products.

The photography bursary was funded through the Create Growth D2 Hub, led by the University of Derby in partnership with Derby City Council and Derbyshire County Council. It was delivered by Derbyshire Makes as part of the Derbyshire Makes Programme, with Arts Derbyshire acting as fund managers.
